Massage in Myrtle Beach

Massage in Myrtle Beach

We are heading towards winter here in Myrtle Beach, and although we don't have the high tourist traffic we normally have during the summer months.there are still many events going on.
I have been recently getting massage clients from the trade show going on in town,to people booking sports massage sessions for the upcoming Myrtle Beach mini Marathon.
I am offering my Fall special massage session.Normally 100$ for a 90 minute massage session,I am now offering a 90 minute massage for 90$. Whether you are just trying to decrease stress,or looking for a great deep tissue massage therapist,I offer a straight fee no matter what massage modality I do. I conveniently travel to my clients location with a professional and very comfortable massage table, linens, and all products I need for the session.
A client I just worked on today posted a review on yelp about me,it made me feel really good that clients appreciate how much heart and soul I put into my massage therapy.
Maria A. wrote "I have had over a thousand hours of massage and most are not that good BUT this guy was amazing.  I wish I lived near him because he is that good.  I would fly across the country to see him.  I'm amazed at how he has honed in on his art."
I am a professional, ethical, and knowledgeable massage therapist in Myrtle Beach,so if you are a local or visiting our city and need a great therapist, please don't hesitate to call.
Looking forward... Michael Champagne LMT|843-492-1764

Michaels Massage- Myrtle Beach,SC

As Mobile Massage becomes more popular with today's alternative health crowd, the more professional massage therapists, including myself, are able to open their own small business rather than relying on the competitive atmosphere of a day spa or salon. My desire to open my own Mobile Massage company in Myrtle Beach stems from..... well, lets be honest here, I'm a Male Massage Therapist trying to survive in a female dominated industry, As you can imagine, I have had to deal with a great amount of discrimination, both from spas that I have worked at, as well as many clients that refuse to have a male therapist for one reason or another.
It is a bit disheartening to watch a client choose a female therapist over me simply because of my gender, and regardless whether the female therapist has the skills I posses, in many cases, it is both the client and I that have lost........ the client ends up leaving the spa after receiving a sub par therapist, and I lose financially.
So...the choice was not a difficult one, and after working in several upscale spas over the last few years and learning a vast amount in the Alternative Health Field, I brought to fruition Michaels Massage™ , a Myrtle Beach Massage and Mobile Spa company. I offer a very affordable service with rates that are nearly 50% below my competitors ,whether they be other mobile massage therapists,or day spas. I feel that I should be paid well for my services, but I don't think massage should be strictly a pampering treatment for vacationers here, I want to be affordable enough for more locals to infuse massage therapy and alternative health choices into their lives. As some fellow massage therapists have said about me, I am the massage therapists therapist .
I am a skilled therapist that uses a variety of techniques and have been able to help many in the past,as I wish to help many more , I ask that you visit my website, read a bit more about my experience and training, and give me a call to set something up.I am offering now until the end of March a Massage & Body scrub combo for 90$. It is an hour and a half treatment, with a choice of body polish or a greater exfoliation with spa gloves and cocoa butter, combined with a one hour massage. As my website states, couples and groups are welcome to book with me given a 24 hour notice to ready an additional therapist. I Hope to bring wellness into your life, you deserve it!

Art as Meditation

I have endured a strained relationship with 3D graphics over the years. It seems as a lot of my hobbies go, there is an ebb and flow with my focus on a particular medium.... I never say never again, but I definitely put it down from time to time and apply my focus elsewhere. Lately with doing my own SEO for my website and business, I'm finding myself back in some of my favorite 3D programs. A version of meditation for me, I can slip into a trance working on an image and just let my thoughts flow and thoroughly process. Always with the 3 directions in my life, where I've been, where I am, and where I am going. I finally finished a piece  rendered in hi resolution for some poster sized prints I have in mind, and have it hosted at Deviant Art for download along with a couple of other images I've done. Some of my work is free to download, some is under Creative Commons license. I would like to give a BIG Thank you! to Daz Studio for their generosity with allowing folks to download some of their best software for a limited time. Although they obviously want to sell more content that is used within the programs, they are very nice 3D applications alone just to teach yourself a bit about 3D.
Please check out my piece titled "Smoke Break" here ----> Deviant Art-Michael Champagne
The piece is not intended to offend anyone, but more of an abstract thought that in this chaotic world, even angels need a smoke break trying to keep up with the madness abound.

Ion Foot Detox - Or How to dupe the Alternative Health public

I'm only going to talk about this subject briefly, as this subject isn't worthy of much verbage.
I will explain what is going on during this "detox" therapy. Your feet are placed in a tub of warm water with some minerals usually added to the water, as any salt based compound will work.
Once your feet are submerged, the "ionic unit" is placed in the water and immediately the "detox" begins as brown, green, beige and yellow sludge starts to surface in the water. What is happening here is the salt, water, electricity, and normally a copper rod connected to the unit starts to create oxides, which is what the sludge is floating on the water. It is no more than rust, yet many spas, chiropractors, and amateur holistic healers will have you believe this contraption is drawing toxins out of the body.. these practitioners of this garbage therapy even have color charts that show what toxin from which internal organs is being drawn out.

I believe in Massage Therapy and the many benefits it provides to my clients, but I refuse to sell or practice a therapy that I not only believe to be no more than snake oil, but can also be dangerous, as some people may have serious health issues and are relying on con artists to help them when they truly should seek professional medical attention. I am a strong advocate in debunking a lot of alternative health practices, and I will voice my opinion about these fake therapies as often as I can. Please watch this video clip to see the chemical reaction for yourself and acknowledge that this is just another scam duping people seeking help

Methods of Meditation-Attaining Peace Within

Michaels Massage-Myrtle Beach Mobile Massage

Over the years I have been drawn to many forms of meditation in an effort to calm and bring balance to mind and body. Meditation to me is not just simply sitting in a quiet place until some moment of Zen arrives, it can take many forms ranging from an exercise regimen to walks on the beach, from scrying into a candle and mirror, to cooking a gourmet meal for myself.

Incense,in its many forms can be a great aid in meditation during quiet times alone. I prefer actual gum resin incense imported from the middle east and Somalia, as the best myrrh and frankincense comes from these regions.

The resins are placed on small circular charcoal discs that normally burn for two hours on average, and placed in a well ventilated area of your surroundings. These resins are actually aged sap from various trees, frankincense resin belonging to the Boswella tree, and myrrh belonging to the Commiphora myrrha tree.

There are only two other incense that I prefer to use, one being the well known Nag Champa incense. Nag Champa incense contains a great amount of sandalwood combined with a resin called Halmaddi, which does in fact have some psychoactive properties, possibly explaining why this incense is so powerful when relaxing and meditating while burning it.

The other incense I prefer is actually a little known secret, I no longer see it available anywhere except from their website, but I imagine the higher cost of this incense would make it scarce in most retail places.

The company Eye Of The Day crafts an incredible line of incense, with an incredible cost in comparison to other incense. I have ordered incense from this company a few times, and whether you buy 1 pack of incense for 5$,or 3 packs of incense sticks for 15$,they charge 5$ shipping for each pack of incense ordered, although they all will come in one small box. I have emailed the company and asked about this ridiculous and unethical shipping practice, with a take it or leave it response from them. So I’ll leave it.

Another form of meditation I found was through the art of drumming, with groups of people creating drum circles. I played the drums for several years,so it is natural for me to be able to let go, to give off and recieve great energy from the group.Even if you are a beginner in drumming, you can get an affordable bongo or hand drum from a local thrift store or pawn broker and just look in your local city mag for events that may include some active drum circle groups.Drum circles are a great way to release stress, to become part of community, and to meditate while merging into the drum trance and energy that is created.

I am fortunate enough to live just a few blocks from the ocean here in Myrtle Beach, and I find a great place for meditation is simply walking on the beach for an hour or two. I’d like to add the beach here may not be the greatest place for getting your Zen on in mid summer, but for now during the winter months, there are some days when I can go for a walk with the ocean and not see a soul on the sand.

I will revise this blog in the future and discuss many other forms of meditation and relaxation, some I have picked up along the way, some I am professionally trained in and practice on my Massage clients

SOPA Blackout

SOPA Blackout- Is it truly a quick glance of what and how information can be censored due to copyright infringment? I can't truly say without a doubt what I've witnessed with my web presence as my website is'nt fully indexed by the big 3.... but it is def out there.

A good percentage of my content goes into detail on alot of the therapies I practice, so I indeed rely on wiki and other valuable sources for a good percentage of the fat behind my site.

In my queries on certain search engines for my site I was remarkebly nowhere to be found.

Maybe my site was crawled shortly after the blackout and my links appeared dead?

Maybe it is just a coincidence... I've added content of value if anything.... meh.

The majority of us out there, no matter what song we may have downloaded or software we used without purchase, ended up spending the money on the product and everyone was happy.

I've admitted of doing the same in the past when I had a curiosity in 3D graphics programs.

It seemed at that time the logical thing to do in order to learn a bit about the software before actually purchasing it. I now own, legally, several hi end 3D graphics program . The ironic thing is I ended up creating alot of 3D models and texture packs and other materials for people to download, for free. As of this date I have around 10,000 downloads of items other artists used within thier artwork.

Well.... all in all, I have to say this protest against SOPA beats the wall street sit ins any day of the week on the intelligence factor, I just hope the people are actually heard this time, our government has its own little Lebensraum mission and I think we're about F;n tired of it....

The Mechanics of Organics...

As a Massage Therapist trying to advertise for my Mobile Spa service ompany, the cost can be quite taxing on the wallet as well as the mental. But there are quite a few cost cutting techniques on website creation to help get your company or product visible without paying the hi cost normally accrued with paid SEO or PPC ads.

The Mechanics of Organics- Ingest, absord, and accept it will take some time to get noticed on the web doing your own Organic SEO, but everything I have read and put into action seems to be paying off ,atleast according to Google Analytics and my growing presence on the web.

Organic SEO (search engine optimization) is the phrase used to describe processes to obtain a natural placement on organic search engine results pages (SERPs). Some examples of techniques used for organic SEO include using keywords and keyword analysis, backlinking, link building to improve link popularity, and writing content relevant for human readers.

Keep in mind that search engines today have  much greater fuzzy inteligence than the days of old(days of old refer to a decade ago, but due to the exponential growth of computers, that be a long time!)
Be ethical and honost in your keyword and meta tags on your website, above all else, the search engines of today will recognize the legitimate relevancy of your page content and will welcome you with open arms to the comfort we've all come to know as "Indexed"

MSG - The most flavorful health problem in the USA

MSG.... Monosodium Glutamate. Oh, she goes by many names when she tries to hide her tasty goodness.
From being called "spices" , and natural flavors.. autolyzed yeast extract and seasonings. It's all the same, more or less, although slightly chemically altered.... MSG. It's causing illness and disease globally,it is thought to be responsible for a countless amount of money spent on health care, and yet it is an approved food additive signed and sealed by the very entity that is supposed to keep our foods safe. The FDA.

I must give the FDA some credit though... they did alot of research and studies on MSG before approving it as a flavor enhancer in our foods. Here's what they found.
  • burning sensation in the back of the neck, forearms and chest
  • numbness in the back of the neck, radiating to the arms and back
  • tingling, warmth and weakness in the face, temples, upper back, neck and arms
  • facial pressure or tightness
  • chest pain
  • headache
  • nausea
  • rapid heartbeat
  • bronchospasm (difficulty breathing) in MSG-intolerant people with asthma
  • drowsiness
  • weakness
This study was comissioned by the FDA and conducted  by the Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology (FASEB). The study resulted in a 350 page report completed on 31 July 1995

I would also like to add that... U.S. Government Food Safety Warning. The transport of MSG is controlled by the Bioterrorism Act of 2002.
Seriously? The bioterrorism act?

I encourage my people out there to start living in a healthier manner.... exercise a bit more, pick up some outdoor hobbbies, cook and eat fresh foods and avoid all processed foods when possible, start reading food labels! and above all else.... book a massage with me!   http://www.myrtlebeachmassagetherapist.com/

Bring Good Health to Fruition with Nutrition!

Every day I try to find a few minutes to get my Zen on.... to relax and ponder the 3 directions in my life.
Where I've been, Where I'm at, and Where I am going. To be ok with past failures, to accept I am not at the mountain top I'd like to be perched on, and yet hope that somewhere down my path I will eventually find some of my dreams and goals have come to fruition.
None of this thought.... nor any actions that follow, would render a great outcome if I don't feed my body as well as my mental. And with this thought... let's talk Garlic!(Did I mention I love garlic?)

Garlic has long been touted as a health booster, but it’s never been clear why the herb might be good for you. Now new research is beginning to unlock the secrets of the odoriferous bulb.
In a study published today in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, researchers show that eating garlic appears to boost our natural supply of hydrogen sulfide. Hydrogen sulfide is actually poisonous at high concentrations — it’s the same noxious byproduct of oil refining that smells like rotten eggs. But the body makes its own supply of the stuff, which acts as an antioxidant and transmits cellular signals that relax blood vessels and increase blood flow.
In the latest study, performed at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, researchers extracted juice from supermarket garlic and added small amounts to human red blood cells. The cells immediately began emitting hydrogen sulfide, the scientists found.
The power to boost hydrogen sulfide production may help explain why a garlic-rich diet appears to protect against various cancers, including breast, prostate and colon cancer, say the study authors. Higher hydrogen sulfide might also protect the heart, according to other experts. Although garlic has not consistently been shown to lower cholesterol levels, researchers at Albert Einstein College of Medicine earlier this year found that injecting hydrogen sulfide into mice almost completely prevented the damage to heart muscle caused by a heart attack.
“People have known garlic was important and has health benefits for centuries,” said Dr. David W. Kraus, associate professor of environmental science and biology at the University of Alabama. “Even the Greeks would feed garlic to their athletes before they competed in the Olympic games.”
Now, the downside. The concentration of garlic extract used in the latest study was equivalent to an adult eating about two medium-sized cloves per day. In such countries as Italy, Korea and China, where a garlic-rich diet seems to be protective against disease, per capita consumption is as high as eight to 12 cloves per day.
While that may sound like a lot of garlic, Dr. Kraus noted that increasing your consumption to five or more cloves a day isn’t hard if you use it every time you cook. Dr. Kraus also makes a habit of snacking on garlicky dishes like hummus with vegetables.
Many home chefs mistakenly cook garlic immediately after crushing or chopping it, added Dr. Kraus. To maximize the health benefits, you should crush the garlic at room temperature and allow it to sit for about 15 minutes. That triggers an enzyme reaction that boosts the healthy compounds in garlic.... The New York Times

Chi Flow and my SEO...

It has been mentally draining lately learning all about SEO(Search Engine Optimization) and how to attain better web presence. I definately need to curb my coffee intake a bit during my internet reading binges on this stuff.... my eyebrows are twitching a bit, my Chi is definately off.
Worked on my website a bit today, looking at some web analytics, I'm moving up in rank on google.com via my alexa rank there are no more than 19 million websites better than mine! lol ... I was told it would not be easy being a Male Massage Therapist, they just did'nt make it quite clear it would be this difficult.
I love what I do , I just wish I did it alot more often.

Time to replenish the Chi ... with a hot cup of Chai
